Let’s Catch Up!

Five Years Celebrating Poets

Let’s Catch Up!

Hello Everyone! Here with a quick Editor’s Note to share!

It was a hard year for a lot of people in Maine. A horrific shooting tore at our community in October of 2023. It was followed with a manhunt that further affected us, separating families and closing schools. Add in rapid inflation and a winter of unpredictable and strong storms, it has been quite a season. As I write this, we are in 2024, because through it all we have fallen behind our normal schedule. I want to thank all the poets and contributors in this edition, especially for their patience and understanding.

I want to send a big thank you to all the folks who have helped me return to this work again and again. I can’t thank Patrick Stanton enough for volunteering his time and talents. I have mentioned and will continue to mention that this is a labor of love and a collaborative process. We would not have made it past 2020 if he hadn’t stepped up with his support. Also many thanks to my mother, Cricket Tupper for her work as proofreader and sounding board and to my husband Steve for the million mirad of to-dos he helps me acomplish.

We would not be at Volume 12 without all of them and all of you! Thank you so much for being a part of this journey! The future of the Frost Meadow Review requires a little tweaking in order to keep going. We appreciate all the feedback and support from our community encouraging us to find ways to keep moving this publication forward. We have a couple changes to announce. For the foreseeable future, the publication will come out once a year instead of twice. We hope to return to biannual printing when our children are older (or sooner if I can figure out how to turn into a flying monkey because I would have four hands and could fly. That would be really helpful.) 🙂 We will likely be adding an e-book version of the publication to each of these annual releases to allow further sharing of your work in an economical and environmentally friendly way. We will also be revisiting our pricing (sad face) and community building creative writing workshops (happy face)! Stay tuned!

Sending lots of love, hope and healing,
